The colors you’ll hear about

The AKC breed standard describes black or liver with white, as well as blue or liver roan. “Liver” is the name used for the brown coat color. A tricolor coat combines black and white or liver and white with tan markings, often on the face, inside the ears, or beneath the tail.

And those little freckles?

White areas can have flecks known as ticking. Photographs help show the variety, while a conversation with Elizabeth can help you understand the description of a particular puppy.

These album portraits show individual puppies; they don’t predict the colors or markings of a future litter.
